Elk Harvest Report



I drew a late Idaho crop damage cow tag; the following are details of
the bullet performance.

Range--150 yds--

Rifle--Custom .45 cal. built by Justin Munden--Richmond,Va.

Bullet--Parker 325 Match/Hunter

Vel.--2700fps

Load--71 grs IMR 4198

Performance Details----The elk was quatering away,facing up hill. Impact behind left shoulder quatering through to the right then exiting. Entrance hole in the hide .45 cal. near ribcage wound dia. 1 1/2 in. The heart was hit--wound was 1 1/2--2 inches--passed on to off shoulder,hit the main bone shattering it into several parts. Bullet was not recovered. The shot was short for this bullet - load and rifle--kill was quick and humane.
